Mihalis Moshoutis, Guitar

Mihalis Moshoutis studied classical guitar at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London where he obtained a Bachelor of Music Honours Degree and then continued his postgraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague. He has twice been awarded the first prize at classical guitar competitions (Pippa Portallion 2001, Veria Classical Guitar Competition 2004) and has taken part in major guitar festivals in Europe.
Mihalis has performed extensively as a classical, electric and steel guitarist and has collaborated with Greek singers (Lolek, Elly Paspala, Loudovikos ton Anogeion, Panos Mouzourakis), composers (Nikos Tatsis, Chikage Imai, Stavros Sofianopoulos) and the choreographer Kostantinos Rigos. He has been a member of the bands Apodrasi, Babas au Rhum, Exhibition Trio and he is the founder of the experimental music project The Future Sessions. He has also composed music for short films, documentaries and TV ads.
In 2010 he released his first album ‘Days’ under the alias Kerkville on the experimental music label Triple Bath. Most of the tracks of the album are featured in the multimedia project The Prism GR2010.
Mihalis performs regularly in Athens and teaches guitar at the St Catherine’s British Embassy School and at the Hellenic American Educational Foundation. He is also co-organizer of Early Nights at the Harmonium, a series of audio-visual events taking place at the Nixon Screening Room in Athens.
